Writer's Muses has weekly writing prompts with many prompts to choose from. There are dialogue prompts, quote promts, picture and lyric prompts as well as roleplay and mun prompts. We even haves prompts to help you dig deep into your characters and show us things that you might not have thought about before. Our goal is to give you the widest variety of quality writing prompts that inspire you to show up at the page.

Be aware that most of the members are here to write and are seeking to get better at their craft.

We don't mind drama as long as you keep it in your stories and not in the comm.

1. Writers Muses is very similar to Theatrical Muse and many other muse communities on LJ and DW. However, it is in no way affiliated with TM but there are comms fine communities that we are affiliated with which are mentioned below.



2. This community is open to *all fandoms*. Muses can be Real Person muses, TV, movie, comic book fandoms, literature, historical characters, and especially OC’s are all acceptable.



3. We cannot accept any muses from the works of Anne Rice and others such as Mercedes Lackey, Andre Norton, and other properties that have expressly forbidden Fanfic for legal reasons. If you have any doubts about this, please write to the moderators. If you have one of these muses...well, just don't.


4. This community is drama-free. We don’t play favourites here. The first sign of any drama or furniture draping, no matter who is doing it, will be met with removal swiftly and surely. Again, your fellow writers are here to write. It is assumed that you are, too.


5. RP is definitely encouraged within fandoms and across fandoms and you may RP here or link to RP threads on your own pup’s journals. Whichever you prefer.



RE: Muses

- You can as many muses as you like.

- Duplicate muses of fandom muses are o.k.

- Duplicating an OC is definitely NOT ok. If you suspect you are being ripped off character-wise, contact the mods.

PLEASE NOTE: OC's belong solely to their respective creators according to all U.S., International, and all other applicable copyright laws.

Regarding Posting

- Every week, usually on either Saturday Sunday, or on a Monday,prompts will be put up. These could be a phrase and/or question prompt, a picture prompt and a word prompt, and many other things in between. You only need to answer one prompt, however, if your muse decides they want to answer more, then, by all means, go for it!

- Responses to the prompts should be a minimum of 150 words. There is no maximum word limit. However, anything over 400 words long, please place behind a cut.

- All prompts over 400 words in length must be placed under a cut. All pictures/graphics used in any responses must be placed under a cut, also.

- All ratings accepted. Any response that has the rating of R and NC-17 should definitely be behind a cut and warnings such as work safe, NSFW, etc. will be posted. This is supposed to be fun! Anyone losing a job or causing trauma to minor children is not going to be having fun. Please be considerate of your fellow community members.

- Please try to label in the subject heading the number of the prompt. Please post in your pup's journal and add the appropriate tags to help us keep track of everyone and make it easy for others to find your muse. You can add either the prompt that was posted in the Community itself or in the pup's journal. Either is acceptable. We do encourage RP in your own respective journals as a means by which to meet others and to establish character relationships and bonds within the community.

- Please be aware that RP matters are private between players and mods will not moderate them.

When labeling your post, in the subject line please try to include:

Any information as to who owns what character and all Mun / Writer information is kept strictly confidential and private and will not be shared with anyone for any reason. We will not "out" any member to any other member or group. This policy is strictly enforced and no exceptions will be made on this policy. It is our view that it's nobody's bloody business who the hand behind any particular character is unless that mun chooses to share this information with others, you shouldn't be spreading it around either. We the Mods feel this is a matter of courtesy and respect to our fellow community members and we will guard their right to their privacy diligently.

This community is for writers. Our goal is to get people to be inspired enough to show up at the page through their various muses. We do our best to facillitate that process. We the Mods of writers_muses ask for is the mutual and respectful dialogue between our members.
